McKinley "Mac" Phipps spoke out for the first time following his prison release last week. After 21 years in prison, the former No Limit rapper made his first social media posts as a free man and expressed joy in his newfound freedom.

"It feels great to be home!" his Instagram caption read. "Thank you to all the fans and friends who've shown me love over the years."

Mac also posted another photo of him smiling alongside a caption that read, "Freedom!"

Throughout his incarceration, Mac maintained his innocence as he served time on manslaughter charges for the death of Barron C Victor Jr., who was fatally shot at a venue where he was performing. Mac filed for clemency after multiple witnesses recanted their stories and admitted police coerced them into identifying him as the man responsible for Victor's death.

After one failed attempt, Mac was granted clemency this past April before receiving parole last week. Following the news, Mac's release was highlighted by Master P and Silkk The Shocker.
