Former No Limit artist Mac has been released from prison after serving 21 years.

Earlier this week, Mac -- whose real name is McKinley Phipps Jr. -- was granted parole after receiving a unanimous vote from the board. The rapper had nine years left on his 30-year sentence at the time of receiving the news.

Mac served prison time for the murder of a teen fan. The rapper was 22-years-old at the time of his arrest and maintained his innocence throughout his incarceration. In addition, various individuals came forward and supported Mac's claims. Phipps was also applauded for mentoring young inmates and receiving multiple certifications while incarcerated.

Master P congratulated his former artist but there was no information of Mac's release date. However, Silkk The Shocker revealed Mac was home when he posted a photo with his former labelmate on Friday.

"Welcome home Mac," Silkk's caption read.

Following the rapper's Instagram post, countless commenters offered kind words for the newly-released rapper.
