No Limit rapper McKinley "Mac" Phipps Jr. was granted parole yesterday after serving 21 years of a 30-year sentence for a murder he has always claimed he did not commit.

Before receiving a unanimous vote by the Louisiana Board of Pardons and Committee, Mac was applauded for mentoring young inmates and receiving multiple certifications. The rapper received certifications in air conditioning and heating and held a work-release job at a shipyard.

Following news of Mac's parole, Master P offered words of encouragement to his former artist on Instagram.

"Welcome home soldier!" Master P wrote. "@macphippsofficial Let God guide you on this next chapter."

According to Mac's parole terms, the rapper has a 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. curfew and cannot enter establishments that serve alcohol. He also required to complete six hours of community service, every month, with at-risk youth. Mac's release date has not been confirmed.
