In a candid interview, rapper HoneyKomb Brazy opened up about the tragic loss of his friend Det, who was killed during a robbery gone wrong. Brazy revealed that he was present when Det shot a man in the leg during the robbery, an incident that led to his own incarceration for three years. Despite being linked to gang activity, Brazy distanced himself from outright violence, emphasizing he never intended to fully partake in that lifestyle. He described the harsh realities of street life, including ongoing beefs and betrayals, and how Det’s death—shot in the head during a confrontation—affected him deeply. Brazy also reflected on his own struggles with drugs and the influences around him but emphasized that both he and Det’s deaths (Det has since passed away) illustrate the cyclical and destructive nature of street violence. “The guy who killed my friend Det is dead too, so it doesn’t matter,” Brazy said, highlighting the senseless losses within their community.
