Part 15: Javier "Panama" Card: My Cellmate Stabbed My Forehead During Knife Fight
Part 1: DC Kingpin Javier "Panama" Card on Cops Killing 15 of His Tourist Robbing Crew in Panama
--------
Javier “Panama” Card, once serving a 113-year sentence for his involvement in a major drug conspiracy, recently shared how prosecutorial misconduct and jury selection issues led to his early release. During his trial, a prospective juror—a black man suspected of affiliation with the Nation of Islam—was improperly struck from the jury, violating Card’s constitutional rights. Additionally, prosecutors secretly favored key witnesses by misusing allocated trial funds, which was undisclosed to the defense.
Card’s legal team exposed these violations and filed an appeal, prompting an internal investigation by the Department of Justice. Facing the risk of setting a damaging legal precedent, the government opted to negotiate a deal. Card agreed to serve a few additional years instead of life imprisonment and was transferred to New York before release. Although deportation to Panama was inevitable due to his immigration status, Card emphasized the deal allowed him to avoid decades behind bars unjustly.
