Update 09/25/2021 3:17pm:

Recently, the Sixers said despite the issues with Ben Simmons, they were going to “remain intent” on convincing the player to attend training camp. However, that effort was a bust, and now, allegedly, even Simmons’ teammates can’t get him back to good spirits with the team.

According to a report caught by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Simmons reportedly didn’t want to meet with his Sixers teammates at all, after several of them made it clear they were going to hop on a flight to Los Angeles to meet up with him. Because of this report, things are looking to be even more sour between the Philadelphia Sixers and Ben Simmons. As of now, there is no word on the status of Simmons being traded.

News of this comes after it was revealed that Simmons could be fined $1.3 million for skipping training camp for the Sixers. Stay tuned for more updates.

The Sixers have been giving updates on their issues with Ben Simmons, saying they were going to “remain intent” on convincing the player to report to training camp. However, reports surfaced noting that Simmons’ chances of attending training camp for Philadelphia are slim.

Reports surfaced saying that Simmons will be skipping training camp for the Sixers next week and that he hasn’t spoken to the team in over a month. It was noted by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that Simmons is fully prepared to be suspended or fined until he is sent to a new team.

Wojnarowski said “Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons will not report for opening of training camp next week and intends to never play another game for the franchise. Simmons hasn’t spoken to the team since a late August meeting when he communicated this message to Sixers officials. Simmons is clearly aware of sanctions available to organization to fine and suspend him, including withholding of salary. But so far, Simmons appears willing to carry out a plan of forcing his way to a new team. Sixers have yet to find a trade they’re willing to make for him." Stay tuned for more updates.

According to reports, the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to get the disgruntled star, Ben Simmons, in training camp despite a summer filled with trade demands.

NBA insider Marc Stein wrote on Monday, Simmons "will choose not to report to the team's training camp" but that the Sixers "remain intent on trying to convince Simmons to report."

Simmons is looking to push himself out of Philly as soon as possible, but that doesn't mean a trade is imminent. If the Sixers pull the trigger on a deal too soon, they could accept a deal that doesn't yield as much in return for Simmons. Ultimately, Simmons is under contract with the Sixers for the next four seasons and it will take everything a team has to make a deal.

Training camp begins September 28 and ends October 3 just ahead of the start of preseason on October 4. The Sixers are hopeful Simmons will be in uniform though we could be looking at a potentially long-term holdout.
