Part 1: Former Mexican Mafia Rene "Boxer" Enriquez on Joining Gang at 12, 1st Drive-By at 14
--------
Former Mexican Mafia member Rene “Boxer” Enriquez sits down with Vlad to discuss his early path through street gangs, juvenile detention, and the California justice system. Enriquez recalls committing robberies as a teenager, being made a ward of the state under Section 602, and cycling through Central Juvenile Hall, Los Padrinos, and Boys Republic before returning to the streets. He also addresses a serious case from age 17 involving an intoxicated girl, explaining that he pleaded no contest to sodomy and now describes the incident as horrific and repugnant. The conversation covers race relations in Los Angeles juvenile facilities, gang culture before prison politics became more rigid, and how Enriquez later picked up multiple robbery charges that led him into adult county jail.
