He also includes *Mayor of Kingstown* and *Snowfall*, praising Jeremy Renner’s powerful performance and the compelling storytelling of these newer crime dramas. Spears names *Ozark* as another favorite, highlighting its intense first season and strong performances by Justin Bateman and Vince Vaughn.
Interestingly, Spears controversially calls *The Wire* overrated, citing his disinterest in season two and character developments after Stringer Bell’s death. While he acknowledges Omar Little’s iconic role, Spears finds the show lacked repeat-watch appeal compared to *The Sopranos* and *Power*. Although appreciating *Breaking Bad*, he did not include it in his top four.
