Former Lakers star Michael Cooper strongly criticized HBO’s 2022 series *Winning Time* for its poor and inaccurate portrayal of the Showtime Lakers era. Cooper said the show offended many people, particularly in its depiction of key figures like Jerry West and Dr. Jerry Buss. He described the portrayal of West as especially wrong, contradicting how West truly behaved. Cooper noted that other productions offered a more authentic look at that era.
