Michael Cooper, legendary NBA defensive stalwart, reflected on his unique coaching journey that made him the first to win championships across the NBA, WNBA, and NBA D-League. After serving as interim head coach for the Denver Nuggets, he led the Albuquerque Thunderbirds to a D-League title, mentoring players like Chuck Hayes and honing his coaching philosophy focused on player development. Cooper later coached the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream and the USC women’s basketball team, deepening his impact in women’s basketball. In 2018, he embraced coaching the innovative BIG3 league.
