Former DEA agent Hector Berrellez expressed his belief that El Chapo’s son, Joaquín Guzmán López, cooperated with U.S. authorities to facilitate the capture of infamous cartel leader El Mayo Zambada. According to Berrellez, the arrest of El Mayo in Texas was the result of a carefully orchestrated operation involving Guzmán López diverting a plane to U.S. soil. Berrellez explained that El Mayo was essentially forced onto the aircraft, which was controlled by U.S. agents, a move highly unlikely given El Mayo’s access to private jets and security.
