Rapper Swifty Blue opened up about his experience joining the Eastside Paramount gang at age 16, revealing the complex dynamics of growing up amidst rival neighborhoods. Born and raised in Paramount, California—a predominantly Latino area bordering enemy turf—Swifty Blue was "jumped in" as a teenager, largely influenced by his older brother who was already entrenched in the gang lifestyle. Living on one side of town while affiliating with a gang based on the opposite side forced Swifty Blue to navigate constant tension. He described how his daily life changed drastically after joining, as he now had to deal with ongoing beefs and rivalries, often with people he once considered friends but who belonged to rival neighborhoods.
