Part 1: Clarence Robertson on Stabbing His Bully at 14: I Felt Power, The OGs Started Respecting Me

--------

After spending 27 years behind bars, Clarence Robertson was finally released in December 2019, just before the pandemic hit. Embracing freedom, he quickly adapted to a world filled with unfamiliar technology and regained his independence by securing a job and engaging in public speaking. However, his newfound freedom was short-lived. Robertson was sent back to prison for three years after testing positive for marijuana, which doctors had recommended for his PTSD and schizophrenia as therapeutic treatment. The emotional toll of incarceration includes missing out on raising his 11 children—one lost to gun violence during his time imprisoned. Despite the setbacks, Clarence reflects on his journey with gratitude and newfound resilience, urging others to live life fully despite hardship.
