Former LA Lakers player Smush Parker has shared the story of how he formed a bond with Shaquille O'Neal after both were waived by the Lakers. In an interview with VladTV, Parker explained that he and O'Neal had become friends while hanging out at a club in New York which later resulted in an offer to join Miami Heat. He also confessed how he hid a foot injury from the Heat by claiming it was a sprained ankle. While he was sidelined for 4 months due to his foot injury, he gained 50 pounds, which was a significant obstacle as he entered the competitive training camp of Miami Heat already out of shape. Parker reflected on his struggle with maintaining a healthy weight during this time due to unfortunate eating habits and the stress over his injury.
