"Basketball Wives" star Brittish Williams was sentenced to four years in prison earlier this year for fraud, and she recently sat down with Carlos King to speak about what led to her criminal activity.

Around the 43:00 mark in the sit-down, Brittish revealed her gambling addiction, which led to her speaking about the severity and lesser-known dangers of gambling. Brittish stated that gambling may be worse than drugs or alcoholism. The belief that she could constantly multiply her money led her down a dangerous path where she risked everything, including her home, financial stability, and even her family relationships.

Despite temporarily banning herself from Missouri's casinos, the allure of gambling drove her to seek solace across state lines in Illinois. However, the temporary bans and increased self-awareness resulted in a significant reduction in her gambling habits since 2017, limiting her exposure and assisting in her recovery.

However, it was not just gambling that plagued her life. Desperate to maintain her lifestyle in the face of financial instability, she made some questionable decisions. To rebuild her credit, she acquired a credit profile number (CPN) which she believed to be a legitimate tool to boost her creditworthiness. Unbeknownst to her, this was illegal.

Later on, she encountered an individual involved in shadier activities, who introduced her to methods of manipulating her finances, including unauthorized check deposits. Coupled with the misuse of social security numbers and incorrectly claiming her cousins' children on her tax returns, her actions ultimately led to felony charges, including wire fraud.

From there, Brittish spoke about facing the consequences bestowed upon her, including a prison sentence, full restitution, and probation. She explained that her sentence feels unfair, especially given the relatively small amount of money involved and the non-violent nature of her crime. It seemed as though her sentence was influenced by her public persona rather than the objective assessment of her actions. You can hear more of what she had to say about the situation above.
