Part of what has made Jermell and Jermall Charlo so appealing to fight fans is the fact that they're identical twins who currently rank #1 and #2 in boxing's light middleweight division. Although Jermell is slightly smaller than his undefeated brother, he is the undisputed champion, and on September 30th, he will embark on the most enormous task that either of the Charlo twins have faced in their careers thus far, a title fight with the undisputed super middleweight champion, Canelo Álvarez (39-2).
The Charlo brothers made headlines over the weekend when Jermall was involved in a backstage scuffle with Caleb Planet (13-2). The incident was followed by another controversial ordeal where Jermell's girlfriend attacked Jermall's ex-wife during a parking lot brawl. Neither of these matters directly involved Jermell, but because he's a twin, his name also went viral. The champ recently addressed all the negative attention he's been getting ahead of his big fight with Canelo with a post via IG stories.
