Kyrie Irving’s NBA season has been storied, as the player faced backlash after an anti-semitic post online. Irving issued multiple apologies since then and has shown off his skill on the court moving forward. However, a report surfaced noting the current Brooklyn Nets player is looking to be traded before the deadline.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN noted a source spoke to him about the request, with the source saying there was talk of a new contract for Irving, but no deal was reached, which led to the trade request.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Nets tried to push for an extension with Irving but presented a contract with “stipulations.” The additions to the contract were something Irving "vehemently" wasn’t for. The star player, who is currently averaging 27 points per game, will be able to leave the Brooklyn Nets to become a free agent this summer if he chooses. Stay tuned for more updates.
