In this clip, Shawn Prez spoke to Bubba Sparxxx about it being the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, and Shawn pointed out that the pioneers probably never dreamed that a country kid like him would be a big star in the hip-hop world. When asked about his hip-hop influence, Bubba detailed his family members being fans of all types of music, and he spoke about having a friend growing up who introduced him to 2 Live Crew. Bubba explained that he was turned onto hip-hop after hearing their music, and he went on to detail becoming a big fan of West Coast hip-hop. When asked about taking hip-hop seriously, Bubba explained that once he graduated from high school, he started recording music. Bubba went on to speak about seeing Outkast blow up, and being inspired by their success to keep going on his path as an artist.
