According to reports, the final gang members involved in the murder of 15-year-old Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz were sentenced for their crimes.
29-year-old Luis Cabrera Santos was sentenced to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. One member of the gang, Danel Fernandez, received 18 years in prison, and two members—Ronald Urena and Jose Tavarez, received 15 years. Two other members, Gabriel Ramirez Concepcion and Danilo Pacheco, received 12-year sentences as well.
All the men sentenced were reportedly a part of the “Los Sures” sect of the Trinitarios gang and dragged the young boy out of a bodega after mistaking him for a rival gang member. While speaking on the matter, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said, “The shocking viral video of the attack left the Bronx community — and the world — horrified at such complete disregard for human life.”
