There were reports that Bills safety Damar Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice after he collapsed during Monday (January 2) night's game against the Bengals. Hamlin's uncle told CNN and ESPN that his nephew was resuscitated on the field and once again in the ambulance after suffering a cardiac arrest during the game.

However, Hamlin's friend and marketing representative Jordon Rooney clarified to CNN that Damar's uncle misspoke. He explained, "There's a lot of medical jargon, a lot of things being said, so Damar’s only been resuscitated once. There's a lot going on. It's hard for anyone to keep up with, who isn't in the medical community."

Rooney added, "His uncle's incredibly supportive of his, of his nephew… I think that, you know, he just wanted to do his part to share some good news and I think just misspoke."

Rooney also addressed the backlash that Bengals player Tee Higgins is getting for being involved in the tackle with Hamlin. Rooney stated, "Tee has reached out, Tee has been supportive. It was a freak accident. It was nothing that Tee could control. You can't support Damar and critique Tee in this situation because Damar’s family is not looking at it that way at all."
