The Buffalo Bills issued a statement on the status of their player Damar Hamlin, who collapsed during Monday (January 2) night's game against the Bengals. 

While it was previously reported that Hamlin was rushed to a Cincinnati hospital after being administered CPR when he suffered a cardiac arrest, the Bills revealed more information about Hamlin's status. 

In a statement released early on Tuesday morning, the Bills revealed, "Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition."

More details are coming out regarding the chilling scene in Cincinnati on Monday night during the Bengals and Bills match up when Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after being hit. 

According to ESPN, Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and had his heartbeat restored after he was administered CPR before leaving in an ambulance. He was taken to nearby University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he remains sedated and in critical condition. 

"The NFLPA and everyone in our community is praying for Damar Hamlin," the union said in a statement. "We have been in touch with Bills and Bengals players, and with the NFL. The only thing that matters at this moment is Damar's health and well being."
