December 14th marked the one-year anniversary of the epic brawl between Jim Jones and Freddie Gibbs at Prime 112 in Miami, Florida; a scuffle where the former reportedly got the best of the latter. In the following months, Freddie Gibbs would be taunted unmercifully by DJ Akademiks, assaulted by a group of people at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Buffalo, New York, and trolled by Gunna on a song from his number one album (DS4EVER) called “Poochie Gown,” where the Atlanta based rapper famously said, “I can't f**k with Freddie Gibbs, n***as pullin' fibs.” It became apparent that Freddie had a target on his back, and other rappers/pundits in hip-hop were taking full advantage of it, verbally and physically.
Amid Gunna's recent plea deal in the YSL RICO case, one of Freddie's greatest industry rivals has been catching an onslaught of criticism from fellow celebrities. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Freddie has decided to go on the offensive by piling on with some mockery of his own and weighing in on Gunna's release from jail. Freddie took to Twitter on Thursday and wrote, "Pushin plea." A clear reference to Gunna's hit song from DS4EVER called "Pushin' P."
The Gary, Indiana native continued with a series of tweets.
"Y’all gotta stop moving the goal post for these n*ggaz."
"Everybody screaming gang gang gang"
"Rap full of snitches so y’all gon welcome this nigga home with open arms."
"And y’all n*ggas said I was hatin…welp."
"I prayed for this day."
Towards the end of his tirade, Freddie got personal by explaining why he was so happy about Gunna's image taking a hit.
"It was n*ggaz that took they verse off my album because wunna ain’t like me. I wonder how they feel now."
