It's been just over two years since the world lost Chadwich Bosmen to colon cancer after the award-winning actor had been battling the disease in secret. NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe recently stated that he, too, had to battle a form of cancer unbeknownst to the public. The three-time Super Bowl champion stopped by the studio for a live taping of FOX NFL on Sunday to share some details about his bout with the life-threatening disease as a part of a collaborative initiative with Janssen Pharmaceuticals called "Talk That Talk," and in doing so, he revealed that was diagnosed with prostate cancer right before Skip and Shannon: Undisputed made its television debut back in 2016.

"What happened was it was like three weeks before I was supposed to come here and do this job with [Skip and Shannon: Undisputed]," Sharpe recalled. "And so I was like, 'You know what I'ma just wait until I get out there [and then] I'll get screened. I started getting screened in my mid-thirties, although [doctors] recommend [men] start getting screened in their early 40's...but because my dad died at 39 from cancer, he had another brother that barely made it to 50, so I felt that I needed to get screened early, so once I retired from football, I started getting screened because I knew the likelihood. I was in a high percentile of developing some sort of cancer, and so it possibly saved my life."

"And to be clear, you're cancer free right now?" Asked the in-studio host, Curt Menefee.

"I am cancer free right now, I feel so good...I don't feel good, I feel great," answered Sharpe.

According to reports, 1 out of every 14 men will develop colon cancer some time during their lifetime. Shannon Sharpe's collaborative effort with Janssen Pharmaceuticals will be geared towards bringing more awareness about colon cancer during prostate cancer awareness month (September).
