Ever since Kevin Durant and Draymond Green started throwing around the term "New Media" to boost their podcasts while also belittling the work of long-tenured sports analysts such as Nick Wright, Skip Bayless, and Chris Brossard, they have caused a bit of a divide in the world of sports media. Now, amidst rumors that Durant might be reuniting with Green as a member of the Golden State Warriors, the war of words has only intensified between reporters and these two current players. Both men have pretty much dominated news cycles since the Warriors captured the fourth NBA Championship in eight years back on June 16th. So, when rumors began to surface that Durant wanted to rejoin the Warriors right after they appeared in the finals, which is the very thing he did as a free agent back in 2016, it irked several of his critics, including Shannon Sharpe.

On Monday, the co-host of Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED unleashed a condemnatory soliloquy about Durant's alleged desire to join a championship team that currently has three All-Stars on its roster instead of staying the course with a Brooklyn Nets franchise that he chose to join of his own volition three years ago.

"KD, he's a runner, he's a track star, he's gonna run away when it gets hard," Sharpe said while looking at his co-host, Skip Bayless. "He can't take the pain [and] he can't get scared, and if you get involved, he'll leave your team in ruins. Skip, I'm so disappointed in Kevin Durant."

The NFL hall of fame tight end didn't stop there, "[Kevin Durant] You are an immensely talented player, you are a historically great player, but you run from a challenge, KD! I'm surprised he didn't want to go to the Bucks. Why not go to the Bucks?! Don't you want to team up with Giannis? Because you want to lease a path of resistance. He got swept, and now he's running from the challenge!
