In light of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars on Sunday (March 27) after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head, which is due to her struggles with alopecia, a video Jada posted last week is making the rounds on social media.

Jada posted the video to speak about shaving her head and dealing with beauty standards in Hollywood over the years. She stated, "Being a Black woman and dealing with hair in Hollywood, in the era I came up in, having your hair look as European as possible was always the thing, and that was really challenging because I liked my hair out wild and curly."

Speaking about shaving her head, Jada stated, "I feel the freedom today. I don't give two craps what people think of this bald head of mine. Because guess what? I love it."

Jada's video, along with videos of Chris making jokes about the Smiths while he hosted the Oscars in 2016 have added to the conversation about the situation. Will addressed the situation and made a public apology to Chris on Monday. However, Chris has yet to publicly respond to Will.
