Tiffany Haddish responded to ex-boyfriend Common's remarks about their breakup Wednesday. About two weeks ago, Common explained the reasons behind their breakup to Hollywood Unlocked's Jason Lee and their busy schedules caused the split.
"I think once Tiffany and I got back on the move, it really didn't allow for us to spend as much time and put in as much energy into our relationship," Common said. "I don't think the love really dispersed, I just think it was just like we weren't feeding the relationship and, as you said, neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do. And we care about love too and partnership, but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for the people it was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed."
Tiffany Haddish admitted that she was "disappointed" by Common's statement, insinuating that he wasn't being truthful in his response. Prior to giving her initial reaction, the 42-year-old comedian said she missed him but wished "him nothing but joy and happiness."
When Lee asked how she felt about Common blaming busy schedules for the breakup, Haddish responded, "I was disappointed. I was very disappointed. I was like, 'Oh, OK. 'Cause that's not what you told me, but OK.'"
