Fans were shocked to hear Common and Tiffany Haddish ended their relationship after going public over a year ago.
The celebrity couple seemed happy together and spoke highly of one another in interviews but an insider claimed they were too busy for a serious relationship. Common confirmed the reason for the breakup during an interview with Hollywood Unlocked's Jason Lee. The rapper admitted that once the pair resumed their regular work schedule, neither had the time to "keep the relationship fed."
"I think once Tiffany and I got back on the move, it really didn't allow for us to spend as much time and put in as much energy into our relationship," Common said. "I don't think the love really dispersed, I just think it was just like we weren't feeding the relationship and, as you said, neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do. And we care about love too and partnership, but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for the people it was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed."
Despite their breakup, Common recently wished his ex-girlfriend a happy birthday on Instagram and wrote, "Happy Birthday to the Queen @tiffanyhaddish! One of the most beautiful and dynamic and wonderful people I've ever known. May the most HIGH continue to bless and shine through you. Wishing you joy, love, peace, light, and fun on your born day. Love!"
