James Franco has been caught up in a whirlwind of sexual misconduct lawsuits over the course of the past few years. But it appears as though the 43-year-old actor/film producer is trying to make amends. In a recent interview with Jess Cagle of SiriusXM Radio, the Award-winning performer openly admitted to having multiple sexual encounters with his former students at his acting school, Studio 4. James Franco maintains his innocence, claiming that the sex was purely consensual.
"Look, I'll admit I did sleep with students," the actor admitted. "I didn't sleep with anybody in that particular class, but, over the course of my teaching, I did sleep with students and that was wrong. But like I said, I, it's not why I started the school and I, I didn't, I wasn't the person that selected the people to be in the class. So it wasn’t a master plan on my part. But yes, there were certain instances where, you know what I was in a consensual thing with, with a student and I shouldn't have been."
The lawsuit against James Franco was filed at the Los Angeles Country Superior Court by Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal in October 2019. James Franco reportedly settled the lawsuit for $2,235,000.
