Update 10/12/2021 2:02pm:

The Ben Simmons and Philadelphia 76ers saga has seen many ups and downs, and now it appears Simmons is throwing in the towel, as he reportedly showed up to the Wells Fargo Center to report to the team this past Monday.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Simmons didn’t tell Philadelphia that he was planning to show up, which made the situation “awkward.” The 25-year-old showed up at the Wells Fargo arena ahead of the team’s preseason game to get a COVID-19 test, which has reportedly started his process to get back with the squad.

Simmons is reportedly scheduled to meet with the higher-ups of the Sixers organization this Tuesday. This comes after Simmons was hit with massive fines for missed practices and preseason games. Stay tuned for more updates.

The issues between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers has found Simmons willing to take a massive pay cut in order to stay away from playing for the team. It was previously reported that Simmons was already fined $360,000 due to holding out from the team and that trade talks for the player were downgraded to “nearly dead.” Now, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has reported that Simmons and the Sixers are making their way to a temporary solution for their issues.

It was noted that Rich Paul has been speaking with Sixers officials to negotiate a solution for the matter and that the Sixers will continue to canvas the league for trades. However, it is looking like there is a possibility of Simmons heading back to the Sixers. Wojnarowski went on to say, “The organization’s hopes are unchanged: Get Simmons back into Philadelphia, onto the court and ultimately convince him that it’s still the place for the long-term.”
