Nicki Minaj continued to defend her decision to not vaccinate herself against the COVID-19 virus Monday evening. After revealing that she contracted the virus during a video shoot, the rapper announced that she would not be getting the vaccine until she's "done enough research" before claiming the vaccine caused a cousin's friend to become impotent and experience swollen testicles.

"My cousin in Trinidad won't get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent," Nicki Minaj tweeted to her followers while discussing the COVID-19 vaccine. "His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you're comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."

After sharing the story of her cousin's friend, various Twitter users suggested that the friend's medical issue was likely caused by reasons other than the vaccine. Users pointed out that not only has impotence has been linked to the COVID-19 virus, but that swollen testicles are often caused by chlamydia, gonnorhea, or the mumps virus. In addition, the CDC has claimed there is no evidence that COVID-19 vaccines affect male fertility.

During her back and forth with her Twitter followers, Nicki Minaj did not discourage people from receiving the vaccine. She recommended that people get the vaccine in order to work, acknowledging that she'll likely be forced to get vaccinated in order to tour. After her story about her cousin's friend went viral, Nicki Minaj followed up by saying her cousin reached out about her decision to reveal the story.

"Omfg. My #cousin who has #TheFriend just texted me telling me to call him," she tweeted. "*Bites Nails* Ugh! You idiots!!! If he saw this on the news it's all your fault!!! It was supposed to be a secret. If either of them ask, u ain't heard it from me. Okay? *stares @ text."
