The Met Gala took place recently and marks the event's return since being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, vaccines have been created, and many have taken the jab to attend events and more. However, Nicki Minaj recently revealed she wouldn’t be in attendance at the event and gave her reasoning as to why.

While on Twitter, Nicki answered questions and addressed why her last public appearance was over a year ago. The rapper said, “I have an infant with no nannies during COVID. Who mad? Not risking his health to be seen. One yaself.”

Another fan agreed with Nicki’s response, which prompted Nicki to make another revelation—she had COVID-19. Nicki said “Love u babe. I was prepping for VMAs then I shot a video & guess who got COVID? Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama?” She continued saying, “'get vaccinated' Drake had just told me he got covid w|THE VACCINE tho so chile."

Nicki then dodged claims of being an anti-vaxxer by saying, “They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.” Take a look above.
