Update 08/09/2021 8:47am:

DaBaby received much backlash after going on a homophobic rant towards the end of his set at Rolling Loud Miami. The rant ended up going viral, and as a result, he was called out by many fans, as well as peers in the music industry. Because of the backlash he faced, DaBaby tried to explain his statements but only worsened the situation. From there, festivals began to drop the North Carolina rapper from their lineups rapidly. DaBaby issued an apology to the LGBTQ+ community after he was dropped from more festival rosters.

In his apology, the rapper said, “Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate and learn from your mistakes.” The apology was uploaded to social media on August 2. However, it appears the apology has disappeared from his social media profiles, as the response by brands and festivals continues to grow negatively towards the “Suge” rapper.

The backlash against the rapper is still having effects on him, as Kanye West reportedly pulled “Nah Nah Nah” ft. DaBaby from streaming services. Stay tuned for more updates.

On Monday (August 2), DaBaby released another apology to the LGBTQ+ community after his comments at the Rolling Loud festival were deemed to be homophobic.

The statement reads, "Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes. As a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publicly working against me — knowing that what I needed was education on these topics and guidance — has been challenging." He also thanked "the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. That’s what I needed, and it was received."

This comes after DaBaby was dropped from four music festivals: Governors Ball in New York City, Day N Vegas in Las Vegas, and Parklife Festival in Manchester, England. He was bumped from Lollapalooza at the last minute last week amid the ongoing controversy.
