It seems as if the comments DaBaby made towards the end of his Rolling Loud Miami set have caused a ripple effect of backlash. Previously, the rapper made comments that were homophobic while on stage and only made matters worse when he tried to clarify them later. Since then, the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago dropped him from their Sunday night line-up. Now, it has been reported that the Governor’s Ball festival has removed the North Carolina artist from their line-up as well.
Governor’s Ball is set to take place from September 24-26, 2021, and features the likes of A$AP Rocky, Young Thug, Freddie Gibbs & Alchemist, and more. The festival issued an update in the line-up, noting that DaBaby was removed.
Governor’s Ball took to social media and said, “Founders Entertainment does not and will not tolerate hate or discrimination of any kind. We welcome and celebrate the diverse communities that make New York City the greatest city in the world. Thank you to the fans who continue to speak up for what is right. Along with you, we will continue to use our platform for good.” The festival hasn’t announced a replacement but did say, “Stay tuned for a lineup addition.” Take a look above.
