Breonna Taylor’s death still stings over a year later, and now a new lawsuit has been filed by the family of Taylor, claiming that the Louisville Metro Police Department is withholding body camera video footage of the death of Taylor, despite repeatedly saying they do not have any footage in their possession.

The lawsuit filed by Louisville lawyer Sam Aguilar on behalf of Breonna Taylor's family says that at least two of the officers involved in the deadly no-knock warrant had a bodycam that automatically activates. The camera reportedly includes a signal that could activate upon seeing police lights. Because of that, the suit argues that it would have been “difficult” for many of the LMPD officers with cameras not to have had their cameras recording “at one point or another.”

The suit is asking for a judge to step in and intervene in order for the LMPD to show any body camera footage they may have. Stay tuned for more updates.
