One woman was fatally shot as the mayhem unfolded during the "Stop The Steal" rally on Wednesday.

Video footage shows the woman on the floor, covered in a Trump flag after a single gunshot was fired. A group of demonstrators crowded around the woman and called for help while trying to figure out where she was shot.

The woman was reportedly attempting to barge into the Capitol building by climbing through a small ledge next to a doorway when she was shot in the neck. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The woman has not been identified and no information has been released about who may have shot her. Police Chief Robert J. Contee labeled her a "civilian" and said his officers are leading the investigation.
