Anthony "Harv" Ellison was sentenced to 24 years in prison for his role in the Nine Trey Bloods case, including kidnapping Tekashi 6ix9ine.

"I'm not an angel. But I'm not a monster either," Ellison said in court. "I don't believe in throwing people under the bus. I don't like a language barrier to have communication with you. I know that you understand me. I really appreciate you, your Honor. I just wanted to be treated fairly, as an American. Proud to be one."

Despite his pleas to the same judge from 6ix9ine's trial, Judge Paul Engelmayer believed his crimes were too "horrific" for a light sentence.

"This was not a book club that you chose to affiliate with," the judge said. "The [Nine Trey Bloods] inspired fear with shooting, including in Manhattan...Snow Billy was shot in the head. You brought a gun to a house and threatened Nine Trey members whose loyalty you had begun to doubt. You participated in a fight at the LAX airport on Nine Trey's behalf. You cut Mark Hovde's face. You were in Manhattan, on a date with Ms. Ramirez - but rushed to Smurf Village. You bailed on your date and stalked Mark Hovde, you slashed his face - 300 stitches."

Judge Engelmayer went against the prosecution's recommended 30-year sentence but added five years of supervised release after Ellison completes his 24-year sentence. The judge concluded by saying, "Mr. Ellison, let me say it may not feel that way, but you are still a young man. With 15% good time, you'll be out in your early 50s. I was impressed by the letter, including from prison staff. I wish you well. We are adjourned."

Anthony "Harv" Ellison, the man convicted of kidnapping Tekashi 6ix9ine, will have to wait another two weeks before he's formally sentenced to federal prison.

Originally scheduled for sentencing Thursday morning, Ellison will now go before U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer on November 4, according to court records. Prosecutors have asked Engelmayer for a sentence of 30 years to life, arguing Ellison was "the most culpable" in the Nine Trey Bloods case.

"Ellison committed an armed robbery and kidnapping of Daniel Hernandez, a/k/a 'Tekashi 6ix 9ine' because he perceived Hernandez as a wannabe gang member, and he brutally slashed an unsuspecting victim (permanently disfiguring the victim's face) in retaliation for the shooting of one of Ellison’s friends," prosecutors wrote in a sentencing recommendation.

But the defense has argued for leniency, writing that since his arrest and conviction, Ellison has shown "tremendous growth" is "a good and respectful young man with a big heart."

Ellison was convicted in part thanks to the testimony of 6ix9ine and his driver, Jorge Rivera, who turned over video of the kidnapping to federal authorities.

The New York Daily News reported that 6ix9ine "choked up" as he took the stand and recounted how Ellison rammed his car, with Rivera behind the wheel, then proceeded to rob and kidnap him at gunpoint along with another man.

"Damn, they caught me slipping, it's over," 6ix9ine recalled himself thinking.
