Part #1: DaBoii on Being the Quiet Member of SOB x RBE, Every Rapper Being Dope

--------

In the latest clip, DaBoii explained how the certified Gold single, "Calvin Cambridge," came together. He admitted to being influenced and drawn to vintage west beats. DaBoii said he and Yhung T.O. originally recorded an unreleased song over Eazy E's "Boyz-n-the-Hood" track before he contacted a producer he met on YouTube to create a similar beat.

The Vallejo rapper added that "Calvin Cambridge" was recorded like a freestyle until Yhung T.O. encouraged him to use part of his freestyle as the hook. The track didn't immediately take off until the success of "Anti," which DaBoii said was recorded during the same week as "Calvin Cambridge." He also stated that the "Anti" beat came from YouTube before explaining why he wasn't on the track.

In the latest clip, DaBoii broke down SOB x RBE's appearance with Kendrick Lamar on the Black Panther soundtrack. He initially didn't think the group's track would make the final cut until he was alerted by one of his crew members that their song was on the soundtrack. After describing his reaction to appearing on the soundtrack, DaBoii spoke about Yhung T.O. claiming the group was broken up prior to their interview with VladTV. DaBoii also described working with Hit-Boy on their collaborative album, "Family Not a Group."
