The unfortunate situation that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor at the hands of Louisville, Kentucky police has been even more widespread in the news after Attorney General Daniel Cameron revealed that he would not charge the officers involved in the murder of Taylor. Now, new body cam footage has surfaced from the shooting, showing officers violating department policy.

Vice News acquired the footage that shows Officer Hankison, who was charged for the shooting of Taylor, at the scene of the crime, and can be heard asking if the shells from the bullets on the floor came from Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend. The LMPD’s department policy noted that officers should be put with an escort right after a “critical incident” and “isolated from all non-essential individuals for the remainder of the initial investigation.” The officers in the raid, all seven of them, did not comply.

It was also noted that the two other officers who were involved in the shooting, detectives Tony James and Mike Nobles were at the hospital where Jon Mattingly was being treated for a gunshot wound in the incident. This is another violation of the LMPD policy.
