In light of Kanye West's latest Twitter rant, the Chicagoan caused a stir by comparing himself to Nat Turner, demanding an apology from Drake and J. Cole, as well as claiming he won't release any new music until his Sony deal expires. Among the many reactions Ye's tweets garnered, he was called many variations of "coon" by scores of Twitter users. This prompted the polarizing Terry Crews to weigh in.

Following Kanye's tweet, which read, "I have the utmost respect for my brothers... we need to link and respect each other... no dissing each other on labels we don't own." The tweet got one user to reply "INCOMING: Black twitter calling you the C-word just like they did with terry crews." This elicited a response from Crews, which read, "You are not officially Black and successful until they do."
