Kanye West has been making a push to get on the ballots in various states across the country for the upcoming 2020 presidential election. The rapper has been gaining momentum with some states, but it seems his home state has denied him the chance to appear on the ballot.
West previously received 3,128 signatures for the petition to be on the ballot in Illinois. However, officials in Illinois who took the time to ensure the signatures were legitimate noted 1,928 of the signatures were invalid. West needed 2,500 valid signatures. As a result, West was taken off of the ballot. Illinois will reportedly be taking West off of the ballot on August 21, unless he announces he is withdrawing before then.
