Previously, it was revealed that Kanye West was not able to make the ballot for president in the state of South Carolina, where he held his now-viral rally at. West reportedly did not submit signatures at all to the Public Information for the South Carolina State Election Commission. Now, news arrived, noting West actually qualified to be on the ballot for his home state—Illinois.

Reports noted two representatives of West filed 412 petition sheets with election officials only four minutes before the deadline, which was at 5 p.m. CT yesterday. Although West was able to fill the deadline, this does not solidify a guaranteed spot on the ballot. Officials reportedly still have to count the number of signatures his reps submitted on his behalf. West was reportedly supposed to have 2,500 signatures.

There is a challenge period for West’s candidacy that runs until next Monday. If no objections are made to the Board of Elections by August 21, and Kanye has the correct number of signatures, he will appear as an independent in Illinois. Stay tuned for more details.
