President Trump's longtime friend Roger Stone, 67, was found guilty of the seven charges against him, including lying to Congress and obstructing an investigation into Russia to protect Trump and his presidential campaign.

The jury deliberated for eight hours before finding Stone guilty of the charges stemming from the special counsel's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election. Stone makes the sixth Trump aide or adviser to be convicted of charges brought as part of Robert Mueller's probe. Stone will be sentenced on February 6 and is facing up to 20 years in prison.

Trump reacted to the verdict on Twitter, writing, "So they now convict Roger Stone of lying and want to jail him for many years to come. Well, what about Crooked Hillary, Comey, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Shifty Schiff, Ohr & Nellie, Steele & all of the others, including even Mueller himself? Didn’t they lie?...."

The verdict comes amid an impeachment inquiry looking to see if President Trump abused his power to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 race.
