Paul Mooney has been at the center of controversy after Richard Pryor's former bodyguard, Rashon Khan, alleged that Mooney had a sexual relationship with Richard Pryor Jr. The details about Pryor Jr.'s age at the time of the sexual encounter remain unclear with some saying he was underage at the time of the encounter and was in his 20s by the time Richard Pryor found out. Nevertheless, Khan noted that Pryor's and Mooney's falling out was a result of this revelation.
Soon after the story hit the news cycle, Paul Mooney was hospitalized and forced to cancel a show in Atlanta, leading many to believe he was dodging the allegations. But Mooney's twin sons sat down with Comedy Hype (the same platform that interviewed Rashon Khan) and defended their father against the allegations. "Paul Mooney ain't hiding. Paul Mooney is not well," said Dwayne Mooney. "He doesn't even know what's going on right now, with all this Richard Pryor stuff. He don't need to speak on it. We're speaking on it. We're his oldest sons."
His other son Daryl didn't mince words when addressing Khan, "Rashon, f*** you. Okay, coming out with some bullsh** like that when Paul is ailing, after he's old. If the sh** was hot, you should've told that sh** years ago. Richard Pryor Jr. ain't say nothing about it so why you gonna tell somebody's business?"
