Back when Paul Pierce said he had a better career than Dwyane Wade last month, the internet didn't let him hear the end of it as he was ridiculed for the statement by NBA fans across the globe. Nonetheless, Wade himself doesn't seem to mind the comparisons, as he was recently interviewed by TMZ where he had nothing but praise for the Boston Celtic legend.

Wade was seen outside the Blue Dog Beer Tavern in Los Angeles with his wife, Gabrielle Union, where he was asked about Pierce's statements that caused an uproar on social media, leaving him to reiterate that he always takes the high road and lets his game speak for itself.

"One thing I won't do is that I won't put another black man down," Wade said with Union's enthusiastic support, as Wade continued by saying "I'm not doing that, he was an amazing player, I have a lot of respect for him, and I'm gonna clap when he goes in the Hall of Fame."

With all comparisons aside, Pierce will be eligible for the Hall in 2021, where his 10 All-Star appearances and NBA Finals MVP makes him a likely candidate.
