Now that NBA All-Star weekend is completed there's been limited sports entertainment available to watch, with the NFL and MLB in their off-seasons while the NBA returns to action this Thursday. With that said, the NHL is fully underway with the playoffs around the corner, and last night there was a lot of excitement around the league. Aside from multiple competitive games with high scoring, there was also an unexpected moment captured with the perfect camera view, when announcer Pierre McGuire was nearly hit square in the face by a stray puck.

The match was between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets, and while McGuire never saw the puck cross his face while broadcasting the game, he clearly heard the impact of the puck hitting the glass he was inches away from. All the same, since a potential tragedy was avoided in this case, the moment has gone viral with hockey fans enamored by such a close call.
