It's been reported that the longtime legal battle between Colin Kaepernick and the NFL has reached a compromise, as TMZ reports that the two sides have agreed to a confidential settlement. Kaepernick, along with Carolina Panther safety, Eric Reid, had filed a lawsuit against the NFL while claiming that owners and team officials had colluded to keep them off rosters as retribution for kneeling during the national anthem.
The NFL has publicly denied those claims even in spite of President Trump's vendetta against the players, where he repeatedly vilified those involved with the peaceful demonstration, and at one point urged owners to fire any "son of a b****" who chose not to stand.
In regards to the recent settlement, Kaepernick's attorney's issued a statement that read: "For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL. As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party."
Thus far, details of the settlement have remained confidential.
