Ever since the shocking news of 21 Savage allegedly overstaying his Visa was released over the weekend, there has been somewhat of a divided reaction on social media, as amid genuine concern and support there have been numerous memes that seem to be having a laugh at the rapper's expense. For that reason, Demi Lovato was driven to deactivate her Twitter after facing backlash for laughing at some of the material, while now Chris Brown is facing criticism from Offset for the same reason.

Earlier in the week, Chris Brown reposted a video of 21 Savage's XXL Freshman Cypher from 2016, altered with a voiceover that appeared to give the artist a British accent.  For the caption, Chris Brown wrote: "CMON FAM, STOP PLAYING WIT DA MANS DEM," though it was assumed that the singer was amused by the mash-up video, considering that he felt compelled to post it for his 50 million followers.

Upon finding out about Chris Brown's post, Offset wrote in the comments: "Memes ain't funny lame," following tweets of his own that expressed how nobody should be laughing about the thought of 21 being deported. Meanwhile, it should be noted that all reports suggest that 21 Savage is still under 23-hour lockdown after being arrested by ICE, as the artist has now been placed into "removal proceedings."
