The Lakers are currently the front-runners to land Anthony Davis this season before the NBA trade deadline on February 7th. However, for the Los Angeles to pull off such a deal they will be required to throw the entire kitchen sink at the Pelicans. As a result, most, if not all, of the Lakers' young talent is on the trading block which includes Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Lonzo Ball.

As potential trade packages have been proposed by analysts since Davis announced his demand for a trade and named the LA Lakers as his preferred landing spot, Lonzo Ball isn't enthused about joining the Pelicans if the deal goes through. According to NBA insider Shams Charnia tweeted, "Should Lakers/Pelicans trade talks pick up, point guard Lonzo Ball's camp prefers Ball to be moved to a third team that doesn't have an established point guard."

Lonzo doesn't hold the leverage in this situation, unfortunately, so the chances of him being able to dictate going to a third team are slim.
