According to TMZ, the rapper has been placed in the general population of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Reports from the U.S. Justice Department in regards to the prison say it’s one of the most brutal due and houses inmates that are “extremely dangerous, violent, or escape-prone.”

Tekashi’s lawyer Lance Lazzaro says the rapper will be fine being in gen pop, and that his bail hearing for Tuesday has been pushed to Wednesday.


News broke earlier of yet another legal hurdle Tekashi 6ix9ine will have to try to jump over, although this time it seems like too daunting a task. According to the New York Daily News 6ix9ine was named in a federal indictment for his role in conspiring to commit a host of crimes including murder, armed robberies, and sell drugs. 

In the 17-page indictment, 6ix9ine is facing 6 counts including discharging a firearm while committing a crime, a charge that carries a possible life sentence. Tekashi's ex-manager is facing the same 6 charges.

Tekashi 6ix9ine and his former manager, Shottie, was arrested on federal racketeering charges, according to TMZ. Tekashi, Shottie, and Faheem Walter, aka Crippy, were all nabbed on racketeering and firearm charges in a joint effort by the ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security.

Tekashi, who is currently on probation for his child sex case, is looking at prison time after the judge warned him to stay out of trouble.
