Witnesses have come forward to discredit officer Amber Guyger's account of the moments leading up to her shooting 26-year-old Botham Jean in his Dallas apartment.

Guyger originally stated that she thought she was going into her own apartment, not Jean's, and she first claimed that the door was locked; Guyger later claimed that the door was unlocked, and then claimed the door was ajar. One witness claims that she heard a woman's voice saying "Let me in, let me in," right before hearing gunshots. Another witness says they heard a man say, "Oh my God, why did you do that?," which Lee Merritt, one of the attorney's for Jean's family, believes were the young man's last words.

Guyger has been charged with manslaughter in the shooting.
